Small pew pew pew laser guns. You'll need a few of them to make an impact.
Professor Yum of the Personal Technology Institute (P-Tech, i-USA), happened upon the Narrow Gauge COIL Laser technology whilst attempting to pioneer a range of ion laser cookery ovens. The idea was to develop a faster method of cooking than conventional microwave ovens. Early tests were plagued with mishaps as the food being heated had a habit of charging with unstable kinetic energy. In one case Yum reportedly threw a piece of bacon at a target after exposure, the bacon turned red in the air and summarily exploded upon impact. The technology has since been repurposed for the defence industry, after a significant reduction in power. |

Trivia[ | ]
- According to the Lore relevant to trees and Fiberwood, Dr. Tony Penev was a known victim of this weapon. He was blinded after looking directly into the beam of the COIL Laser that he was using to collect samples with.
- Ironically, despite the weapon's effects, Penev is still capable of reading and playing computer games.
- This also implied that it was also used for resource harvesting.
